  • Hiking at Katoomba

I went to Hiking with Matthew and Su Xian last week on 12 July & 13 July.
We had spent one night at the camping site and the local temperature is 10 Celsius during the day and night -2 Celsius.
Early morning, we departed at 8.30am and reached Explorer Tree at 9.30am
The place we hike, is Katoomba (Blue Mountain) and named Six Foot Track.
Our starting point is Explorer Tree where Matthew parked his car and we took our bags.

    The hiking route:
    Start: Explorer tree :
    8km
    to Megalong Cemetery
    +7.5km
    Destination: Coxs River Campground.

Hard to carry the bags back to our shoulder!!

Matt and Su Xian carried their heavy bags weights 10kgs and above,
My bag weight 5kgs-8kgs. (due to 1st time hiking, I couldn't carry too heavy bag).

We have used 5 1/2 hours to reach Coxs River. In between, we were managed to take 10-15min breaks and lunch.
When we need to go toilet, we did that in the bush. (this is my 1st time, pee on the grass, the bush).

For few times, I was not used to the steps and fall to the ground (sit on the ground)
For the fastest way, We had to cross the SWINGING Bridge, it was FUN!!

We reached Coxs River at 3pm and we set up our tent and Fire.

Foam Mattress, and the water supply (flows of spring water from the mountain)

Our tent, it is Huge, it can fit 6 mens

We ate cup of soups and cup of noodles for dinner.
For supper, we had bbq potatoes, vodka, ribena, and snacks
Played cards and had drinking session.

At night, I couldn't fall asleep because it was too COLD!!
    I wore 3 pants + 3 shirts + 2 thick winter jackets + thick glove + Thick socks +beanie

So I Hide into the sleeping bag.

Still cannot sleep, felt cold, and shiver for whole the night.

    MAIN PROBLEM:
    Toilet
There were two toilets at the camping site, but those toilets are environmental friendly ( it means, those output are naturally decompose by Bacteria)
No flush, straight to the ground.
It smells but was ok due to winter, not too bad.

    2nd DAY

    Blue Mountain

I had my choc milk but it became the Cold choc milk due to the cold weather.
My both legs, back and shoulders were sore and painful but I have choice,
have to continue our journey back to Explorer Tree. (to pick up the car).

We have to overcome our sore legs and walked for another 7.5km.
At the end, we stopped at Megalong Cemetery and called Taxi to pick up us.
Unfortunately, we couldn't continue our journey back to Explorer Tree, if we do, we need to walk for another 3-4 hours. It was painful!!!

When I reached home, I could barely walk as normal.
I was "cacat" for 4 days.
I couldn't walk down and up the stairs as normal.
For the 1st day, I came back, even normal walking, I also cannot walk properly.
Because, my legs, toes , back and shoulder were painful and sore..

So, Hiking....erm.....I have to think twice before I decide to go for the NEXT TIME.
For the moment, camping would be good, but not for Hiking.

For this trip, Matthew bring along his dog (snoopy). This dog was very clever and very obedient.

Waiting for Taxi to pick us, and take photos with snoopy.
  • Sing K

    Sing K..
Me , sis and bro-in-law went to Karaoke in Sydney, K-Mix
Sing for 3 hours plus one packet of juice costs AUD 10.
Cheap cheap but their sounds and environment was ok ONLY!
Not too bad but not as good as NEWAY or Redbox in KL.

But I really appreciate and fully enjoyed.
